Deciding which files to print
The Red Pill or the Blue Pill, which will you choose?
We’ll be building the Wheeled robot.
Slicing, with Cura
Like a Ninja. (Kind of).
- Add the files to Cura
- Print the Chassis on its own 8 hour Monster*
- Print the Wheels in 2 pairs
- Print the Motor Holders, Range Finder Cover & Range Finder Holder together
- Print the tracks 4 at a time
3d Printer settings & printing with OctoPrint

Preparation - bed levelling, choosing the right filament & colour
- Level your bed before you print (or at least at the start of a session of printing multiple parts)
- Use PLA+ for the best results
- Grab the Colour at http://www.smarsfan.com/assets/pdf/smars_colour_sheet.pdf
Printing the Parts
Just do it:
- Drag the G-code files from Cura to Octoprint
- Check the bed is clean, pre-heated and level
- Print!
What you’ll need for week 3
For next week’s Assemble the parts session:
- The 3D Printed parts
- A 9v Battery
- A 9v connector
- 2x 150RPM 6v Motors
- HC-SR04 Range Finder
- Some red & black wire (20cm each)
- A Soldering Iron
- Some Solder (and Flux)
